It is not enough to talk about the future.
We must act for it.
Last year we spoke about responsibility. By now it is clear that recognition alone is not enough: the time to act has come. The consequences of climate change are no longer forecasts; they are part of everyday life. They are there in the dry summers, the extreme weather, the higher cost of energy and the less certain supply chains. At the same time, the world’s economic and geopolitical order is changing. Energy security, access to critical raw materials and technological competitiveness have become strategic questions.
Few fields are changing as quickly and as deeply as transport and energy. The car, which for a century meant the internal combustion engine, is becoming an electric, connected and increasingly self-driving system. Energy is now also produced on rooftops and in energy communities, and stored in batteries. Hydrogen is moving from pilot projects towards industrial use. The transition is not a straight line. The European automotive industry is in the middle of a historic transformation, with new and strong competitors. This affects Hungary and our region in particular, where a significant part of the economy is tied to the automotive industry.
